A little about your candles
Some background to our fragrances
Our Lavender and Patchouli candles provide a harmonious fragrance with a lovely warming feel. Oils of Patchouli and Cedarwood blend perfectly with crisp eucalyptus before being rounded off with a tonka and vanilla base. Being nature-derived, this fragrance is truly unique.
This beautiful concoction of floral and woody aromas is mixed with Citrepel, which is a highly effective insect repellent, making it a wonderful choice for both outdoor and indoor use.
Our French Vanilla fragrance has been specially formulated to evoke the familiar scent associated with vanilla. This powerful fragrance initially exudes a strong and prominent smell associated with lemon cream and absolute blossom, filling up your room with a scent that is then enhanced by light undertones of raw vanilla and tonka bean. Incorporated into the formulation for this distinctive fragrance is a delightful trace aftertaste of French vanilla and amber.
Embrace the tranquil beauty of an exotic eastern garden with our Lemongrass and Ginger scented candle. Both sensual and stimulating, this fragrance stands out with citrus aromas mixed with spiced herbs and a hint of fresh eucalyptus, perfect for helping create a calm, relaxing atmosphere.
Orange blossom and Mimosa captures both the citrus zest and the delicate sweetness of oranges to create this delicious fragrance, whilst Mimosa provides a lush floral fragrance combining top notes of anise & cinnamon with a floral heart of Mimosa, Rose and Jasmine.
Often compared to lemongrass, Mai Chang provides a wonderfully sweet citrus-lemon fragrance which people find incredibly uplifting and perfect for combating fatigue. It is known as the oil of tranquillity, with a fragrance providing mental calmness and physical relaxation.
Some maintenance hints and tips which can help prolong the life of your candles:
-
Ensure the wick is correctly trimmed. Normally a wick length of around 1cm is appropriate, although this may be increased slightly for larger diameter candles.
-
Keep the candle clear of wick trimmings and debris.
-
Ensure when you first light your candle you can leave it burning until the melt pool has covered the whole of the candle surface. As a rule of thumb. this normally takes 2-3 hours for a 5cm diameter candle and approximately another hour for each additional 2.5cm.
-
When extinguishing your candle, to avoid excessive smoking use a metal implement (for example, a spoon handle) to extinguish the flame by gently pushing the wick into the melt pool. Once the candle is out, straighten the wick again, ready for the next lighting.
If the advice above is followed our 20CL candles should burn for up to 30 hours, whilst the 30CL and Cut Glass candles may burn for up to 40 hours
